The European Union has set a goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2050. To achieve this goal, CO2 emissions need to be reduced by well over 90 percent. To accomplish this, gaseous, de-carbonized energy sources must be used. One such source is CO2-neutral hydrogen.
Our EFOY hydrogen fuel cells are based on PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) technology, and generate zero-emissions power from hydrogen fuel. They operate on commercially available hydrogen 3.0 cylinders.
Hydrogen is a clean energy source. When using it to produce electricity with a fuel cell, its only byproducts are exhaust heat and water. You can drastically reduce your CO2 footprint by replacing your diesel generators with fuel cells. Hydrogen can be produced from renewable energy sources, such as wind or solar power, using environmentally friendly electrolysis processes. Hydrogen produced in this manner is CO2 neutral, which is why it is called “green hydrogen”.
Green hydrogen is produced using renewable energy such as wind or solar power. Unlike fossil fuels, hydrogen will thus be able to ensure that future generations can also enjoy electrical power.
Hydrogen can easily be transported in highly pressurized individual or bundled storage cylinders, on trucks or by rail.
Hydrogen is a very efficient energy source, performing better than fossil fuels, and has a very high energy density relative to its weight. One litre of diesel only contains 10 kWh worth of energy. One kilogram of compressed hydrogen, by contrast, has an energy content of 33 kWh.
