The Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG) uses the fuel cells in its inspection vehicles. They are used to charge the auxiliary batteries, safeguarding the vehicle‘s supply of energy while on-site inspections are being carried out.
The inspection vehicles operated by the Federal Office for Goods Transport are equipped with a lot of technology that demands a sizeable amount of energy. A reliable, continuous supply of energy is especially important during on-site inspections. Until now, the vehicles had to be driven for a suitably long period of time in order to sufficiently charge the auxiliary batteries.
When the Federal Office opted for EFOY fuel cells, there was no comparable system on the market. A test phase confirmed the system’s success. SFC Energy was also able to ensure that the tank cartridges needed to operate the fuel cells are available across Germany.
EFOY Pro fuel cells are available in various power classes, from 40 W output power for small power systems to a 500 W module for UPS solutions.
The fuel cells are installed into the inspection vehicles’ rear cabinets and connected to the auxiliary battery.
Currently, the Federal Office is using around 400 EFOY Pro fuel cells in its inspection vehicles. We are currently not using any additional source of energy.
The EFOY Pro fuel cells ensure the optimum supply of energy to our inspection vehicles while on-site inspections are being carried out.
