The LAUTFEUER Festival with around 10,000 visitors requires a stable energy supply for the stage, side events and infrastructure. Conventional diesel generators no longer meet the requirements for sustainability and climate protection. The organisers and partners were therefore looking for a powerful, flexible and green alternative that could reliably supply power independently of the grid – even with changing load profiles and over several days.
Festival operations place extreme demands on their energy supply: high base loads due to stage and sound technology, additional peak loads during shows and after-parties as well as continuous energy requirements for lighting, security and catering. Conventional solutions cause emissions, noise and high maintenance costs. What was needed was a clean, quiet and scalable solution that would fulfil all these requirements without disturbing the festival atmosphere.

The hydrogen fuel cell integrated in the EFOY H₂PowerPack X50 delivers an output of 50 kW and can be clustered up to 200 kW. With the standard CEE plug, the 300 bars hydrogen interface and the integrated display, the EFOY H₂PowerPack X50 is easy to operate and can be used plug & play.
The answer: the EFOY H₂PowerPack X50. With an output of 50 kW, the fuel cell solution supplies green hydrogen power and simultaneously charges a 422 kWh battery storage unit, which can easily cover peak loads. Supplemented by an H2Genset, side stages and after-show events could also be supplied. The plug & play solutions impressed with their simple handling, quiet operation and zero emissions.
During the LAUTFEUER festival, the EFOY H₂PowerPack X50 together with the connected battery storage system generated around 2.1 MWh of clean electricity from hydrogen. The solution worked reliably, emission-free and almost silently – even at peak loads during main shows and after-parties. As a result, the festival was not only able to secure its entire energy supply, but also significantly reduce CO2 emissions, noise and other emissions compared to diesel generators. The fuel cell solution impressively demonstrated that high-performance, mobile large-scale events are also possible without fossil fuels. Visitors, partners and organisers experienced live how innovation, sustainability and event culture harmonise with each other.
