The threat of severe flooding and the associated “flood tourism” have become more relevant in Germany in recent years. Flooded areas increasingly attract unauthorized persons who, by swimming or ignoring barriers, weaken the dike structures and place an additional burden on the emergency forces. At the same time, wind farms are increasingly becoming the target of theft and vandalism, resulting in high repair costs and production downtime. Against this background, the emergency services were faced with the challenge of efficiently monitoring these extensive and remote areas without additional manpower. In flood areas, the main concern was protecting the dikes, while securing wind turbines against cable theft and vandalism was paramount.
The main task was to create an effective and independent surveillance solution that would ensure 24/7 remote monitoring. An autonomous energy supply was important to be able to work continuously at remote and often inaccessible locations without a grid connection. In addition, the system should enable reliable monitoring day and night and deter potential thieves and onlookers.

VIDEO GUARD’s self-sufficient video surveillance towers are equipped with the latest video technology, AI-supported video analysis and infrared-based night vision cameras.
